The Waterman Fund was alarmed to hear of the Cog Railway’s proposal to build a 35-room hotel in the alpine zone of Mount Washington. This development would threaten the spirit of wildness found in New Hampshire’s alpine areas and raises significant concerns pertaining to the impact on surrounding ecological communities. While no formal application to build the hotel has been submitted to the Coos County Planning Board, we are monitoring this situation, in discussion with other like-minded organizations regarding our concerns, and will keep our supporters updated as to how they can become involved in the process if and when an application moves forward.
